It’s awards season, which means it’s time to gather your girlfriends, indulge in chocolate and decadent desserts, sip on bubbly beverages and gawk at all of the stunning designer gowns. That’s what I do when I watch the Academy Awards, anyway. For as long as I can remember, I’ve watched the Oscars. As a preteen, I wanted to be an actress and was mesmerized by all of the sophistication and glamour of this celebration. My mom and I would watch the pre-show together to discuss the selected fashion and what we liked and didn’t like about the choices. As I’ve gotten older, that part is often still a guilty pleasure of mine, although I’m turned off more from all of the “soap boxes” used for speeches. There are still gleaming moments though (this speech is a favorite of mine) and genuine moments of beautiful, artistic work being recognized. So sit back with your chocolate mousse cake and girls as you host your own Oscars party.
Individual servings of Costco’s Tuxedo Chocolate Mousse Cake served with fresh berries makes the perfect pairing to champagne (or in this case, Welch’s Sparkling Grape Juice).
It wouldn’t quite be a celebration of movies without popcorn, right? Gourmet white cheddar popcorn served in individual baggies minimizes the mess and allows easy grabbing.
These darling (and free!) BINGO cards by Evite will help entertain your gals as you watch.
Use a bar cart, coffee table (here with one of my wall mirrors placed atop) or whatever you have to setup your fancy but relaxed soirée.
Always add fresh flowers.
Apply gold leafing to your bottles for Oscar replicas.
Use Lindor truffles as BINGO holders.
Enjoy the evening!
